clock hands dance in a ceaseless flow
we seem to twirl beside stop and go
i find myself feigning in moments
twisting on lips between skips
i hear the clock
do you hear the click?
we’re spinning in evanescence
time fades before it flows
i work in ways where we don’t align
i’m finding time between versions of you
we sway in oasis
burning for previous conversations
i converse in a type of rhyme
between you and i
i see echoes in things
to feel the vibrations of moments
between candle lit diners
in the franklin village
i believed in words
to believe in you
like clowns in a tiny car
with an empty tank of gasoline
things make sense if you let them
versions of us tango in living rooms
bouncing from mind to mind
yours were different
a type of barbaric
these moments come yet swiftly go
memories fade like morning dew
a thousand miles
yet i dance to continue
remember how i always told you
we were a different version of blue
