i wrote a few
as i listened to that song
you know
the one
you used to play
for me

we swung from limbs
between trees
and i don’t understand
where you were
while we were getting high

i stumble through doors
empty hallways
attempting to understand
the words you spoke

a mere eighteen
was young
you were you
a man
eyes beyond blue
with an aura you could touch
stance beyond loveliness

it was the rhythm
the moments
driven white noise
and i never knew
where you were
while we were getting high

here i lie
years later
between used words
moments you could light with fire
grip you need psychosis to acquire

yet it was and just was
pure bliss
with monetary value
a subconscious love
a darkness
i never quite understood

currency, formerly
