to bask into motions
creating stones from ashes
have you ever felt quiet
in a storm of emotion
we break into thought
daring to be forth
i create in nights
often around midnight
wondering if you’d be here
under the street light of our time
stuck between vices
in decades of temperance and chaos
i painted you to be
with shadows and a melody
two upon we
on july thirteenth
wading in scenes where we spoke
in a cemetery of ever
under pressure
under tension
you say i instead of we
because in time
all things end and all you have are
moments between
me, myself and i
doors open yet some end

i wade into versions of you
breaking to be
tangled between the thought of you
we’re spinning in circles
between decades and versions
i lay one down beneath the fumes
to listen for echoes
a darkened temptation
have you ever spun all night
stuck in motions
screaming into white noise
rocks are not always jagged
reasons don’t always find meaning
in night some speak tongues
to you is to behold
truths are scarier than our past
i ask for you to feel the details
the wind beneath you
songs in the distance
ripples in the water
did the tears fill the pond
your movements were always too calm -

clock hands dance in a ceaseless flow
we seem to twirl beside stop and go
i find myself feigning in moments
twisting on lips between skips
i hear the clock
do you hear the click?
we’re spinning in evanescence
time fades before it flows
i work in ways where we don’t align
i’m finding time between versions of you
we sway in oasis
burning for previous conversations
i converse in a type of rhyme
between you and i
i see echoes in things
to feel the vibrations of moments
between candle lit diners
in the franklin village
i believed in words
to believe in you
like clowns in a tiny car
with an empty tank of gasoline
things make sense if you let them
versions of us tango in living rooms
bouncing from mind to mind
yours were different
a type of barbaric
these moments come yet swiftly go
memories fade like morning dew
a thousand miles
yet i dance to continue
remember how i always told you
we were a different version of blue -
Read more: to melt with you
i lie into the thought
of a dark lit room
hands across, tangled beside
to be aside the warmth of you
i hold to see, strings we keep
before i tangle
i rhyme in thought with two hearts
to be in motion without hesitation
i used to die for you in summer
on cold nights i remember
you beside me, us as we
to frolic in sessions
from dusk til daylight
the wind only speaks if you listen ever so
carefully
i mask in your chambers
with doors locked how we left them
i see you between the shades
of a summer time west side
coffee beans from tuesday morning
clouds in my ears and death in evenings
i chance on my wine thinking of all the times
we bask in our nostalgia
to remember things how we leave them
have you ever thought of a moment as it leaves you
i believe in time
how it speaks in weight
two between sheets of memories
the warmth sometimes burns
ice ever so calmly melts
coldness comes with changes
but time always has a way to heal -

Money doesn’t make you happy. It makes you feel powerful, and in turn, you equate control with happiness, creating a compelling illusion of fulfillment.

Somewhere between the pause in your breath and the length between our fingers, I almost asked you to stay.
