The problem wasn’t that I loved him more than myself, it was that he loved himself more than I ever could.

I love poetry because it lets me express my love for another more than what is normally perceived.

freeway to fog
hidden to bits
secret twined kisses
we lift, love
caress two beings
transcend into heavens
touch
our fingers
lying in loaded bullets
a rush
the push to shove
heartbeats aligned
the knees to gut
our sleepless nights
lie side by side
atop a world of mine
the dawn
his heart
my life
a soulmate
us, two beings
an entirety
a universe
one lucifer
another stuck
in reverselucifer

Read more: “I write to understand why things happened the way they did.” this really inspires me. I am just starting to become comfortable enough to share my writing and work in a public forum, but I’m not comfortable enough to fully identify myself as the author. I don’t know if it’s perfectionism, fear of inadequacy, or the intimate nature of most of the things I write, but I don’t share often. When I read that, it hit me that I not only write to understand, but maybe to be understood as well. Thank you.
Thank you! I was the same way for along time. Whether it’s shit or not – you learn, you grow and no one else’s opinion really matters unless you let it. Fuck ‘em, post it. Identify yourself. You are you.

embers of our fire
desire of life
the one who seems forgotten
stuck between a life of nothingwe were two beside none
one beside love
a dove and a crow
the words you thought nothing ofwe were, but always
transcended beyond galaxies
he who thought
one who foughtwe were insanity
a memory
the mistaken trouble
only but never
two men who couldn’t find everat any time

I told him I wrote a few poems about him and he just smiled. Little did he know I meant a few thousand.

It’s bizarre and truly sad how connected yet disconnected this generation is.
